ONCE again, Malvern Rotary Club is offering you the chance to remember your loved ones with its Tree of Light appeal.

The main objectives of the appeal, now in its 16th year, is to provide a way for families and friends to remember loved ones no longer with us and to raise funds for worthy causes.

This year the major recipients will be St Richard’s Hospice and Acorns Children Trust.

The trust, which has a hospice in Worcester, provides a network of care and support to life limited and life threatened children and families across the West Midlands.

Over the years, more than £140,000 has been raised so far, and many charities have benefited from the annual distributions.

For many years, some of the running costs of the appeal have been sponsored by local businesses, and the club sill be glad to hear from anyone offering to help.

Members of the club will be erecting the lights in Priory Park, Malvern, at the end of November.

Following the switch-on, the lights will be lit every evening until shortly after New Year.

A list of donors and lives remembered, updated regularly, together with the names of the business sponsors will be displayed on a screen in the central foyer of Malvern Theatres, and on Rotary’s website.

A full list will also be published in the Malvern Gazette in the run-up to Christmas.
