A LOCAL couple were delighted to win an award recognizing their contribution to Citizens Advice South Worcestershire.

"Peter and Sue were surprised to receive the award but for us, it was a unanimous decision; their contribution to our charity this year has been outstanding," said CEO Marie Henry.

" They have held three private parties for friends and families, organised and ran Call My Bluff wine tasting events, a quiz and carried out various talks to local groups.

"Peter raised £2,000 when he and two of his friends walked 50 miles over three days and Sue spent hours clearing and preparing the Evesham office garden ready for our art installation.

"Peter also organised a photography competition at the Vale of Evesham Camera Club, Sue is one of our volunteer advisers and they also donate something to every raffle – they really do embody the spirit of our organisation and they truly deserve this recognition and thanks."

Peter said: "I must admit this has been a busy year for fundraising for us but we have enjoyed it and never expected anything like this award; we do it because we value Citizens Advice and know how hard it is for them to make ends meet financially."

For 2020 Peter is taking on the role of volunteer PR and publicity lead and Sue will continue to support local people as a trained adviser.
