THE champagne is flowing for staff at a Worcestershire law firm after their will-writing campaign raised £900,000 for charity.

Wills and Legal Services celebrated a monthly record of £41,479.50 for the County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal in October, smashing September’s figure by more than £10,000.

That makes a grand total of £940,312.75 to date as the Malvern-based firm, which has paralegals across England and Wales, targets the magic million mark.

For a recommended donation of £40 to the appeal, the company provides people with a professionally-written will.

Sarah Watson, director at Wills & Legal Services, said: “Well, what an achievement! We’re edging closer to raising £1 million for this fantastic cause and we want to say a big thank you to all our loyal customers for their support.

“It’s thanks to their generous donations that we’re raising so much money for the HELP Appeal - we’re so grateful for their support. This money will make a real difference in helping to save lives.”

Jason Dennis, from the HELP Appeal’s fundraising executive team, said: “The County Air Ambulance Trust has been working hard to help save lives for more than 25 years.

“Its HELP Appeal funds life-saving helipads so air ambulances can land directly at hospitals throughout the country.

“Visit helpappeal.org.uk to learn more about the helipads we’re funding in the future, which will save time and save many more lives.”

The charity has so far funded 36 helipads across the country, which have seen 12,250 landings, with another 40 helipads in the pipeline.

More than half of UK adults don’t have a Will, but writing one is important to make things easier for your loved ones when you die.
