THE death of an electrical mechanic who was crushed by a lorry at a Kidderminster haulage and transportation firm was caused by accident.
Christopher Lee Rogers, of Wheatcroft Close, Halesowen, died after working on a lorry at Hickmans of Kidderminster in Foley Business Park, Foley Drive on Wednesday, September 19 last year.
The 51-year-old became trapped between the wheel and body of the lorry when the vehicle lowered onto him, applying pressure to his neck which caused him to suffer cardio respiratory failure.
No safety measures were put in place at the time.
An inquest held at Worcestershire Coroners Court on Monday, October 7 heard that the lorry had a problem with its suspension which could be raised and lowered by controls on a tablet.
The inquest was carried out over three days and involved a jury.
Coroner David Reid concluded on Wednesday, October 9, that Mr Rogers' death was caused by an accident.
