Pershore Volunteer Centre is heading the recruitment drive for volunteers to help run the new Health and Well-being Hub being planned to launch in Pershore early next year.

The hub will offer help for people who want to find out about aspects of healthy living, information on the many groups and societies in Pershore or simply want to drop in and have a chat.

Angi Ballard, volunteering co-ordinator, said: “We are aiming to recruit a number of volunteers who are willing to commit to two or three hours once or twice a week.

"Volunteers will have a range of skills between them and in particular we are looking for people who work well as part of a team, are empathetic, good listeners and have good verbal communication skills; in addition to this, an understanding of the health and social care sector would be useful but is not essential.

"There will also be some supervisory roles needing team leadership, mentoring or management skills. We are hoping to recruit in October/November so volunteers can complete training sessions before Christmas.”
