THERE is a chance to see police dogs and horses as well as riot squads and firearms units at Gloucestershire Constabulary's open day this Saturday.

Cotswold residents are invited to go along and see a number of live demonstrations at the free event along with behind-the-scenes access to the custody suite and control room at the Quedgeley headquarters.

Other entertainment includes a children's police-themed fancy dress competition and a display of police vehicles.

The fire and ambulance service will also be in attendance alongside a number of other groups.

A number of free talks will also be taking place. There are still tickets available for 'Safeguarding your family and friends' and 'Exposing the exploiters'.

For anyone who is thinking of joining the police there will be a recruitment zone where staff will be available to provide advice and information.

There will be several water bowsers on site to limit the use of single use plastics. These will be provided by Severn Trent are available for visitors to use free of charge.

The event is being held between 10am and 3pm.
