POLICE are re-appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault in Bromsgrove where a man was reportedly punched in the face on a dancefloor.

The attack happened on Saturday May 18 at around 3.30am in a licensed premises on Worcester Road.

A man in his 20s is believed to have been on the dancefloor with friends when a man approached him and punched him to the face, causing the victim to suffer facial injuries.

PC Chris Yarwood said: "We are continuing to investigate an unprovoked attack in Worcester Road, Bromsgrove that occurred in the early hours of Saturday 18 May.

"The victim of this horrible attack is recovering well from the surgery he has undergone due to this incident.

"It may seem like a long delay since the incident for us to release the CCTV images, but when new information is presented we act upon this and we would like to ask the public to help us to identify the man in the images.

"We believe the man pictured may be able to help us with our enquiries and would like to speak to him. If you are the man pictured or know the man pictured please call 101."

People with any information are asked to contact police on 101, quoting the incident number 685S of 23 May.
