A WORRIED dog owner is living her worst nightmare as she believes her lurcher was stolen from her field near Far Forest.

A two-and-a half-year-old male lurcher named Riley went missing at around 6.45pm on Thursday March 14 from a property on the A4117, between Far Forest and Cleobury Mortimer.

The owner believes the lurcher was stolen from her field on the evening and couldn't have made its own way out of the grounds.

She said: "It's a nightmare, Riley's gone off the face of the earth.

"Not knowing where he is is the worst part, whether he's lying injured or being starved somewhere."

Groups including Dog Lost and Forest Dog Rescue have shared an appeal via social media to help locate the lost lurcher.

Dog wardens and the police have also been informed about the incident.

People who have seen the dog, or have any information regarding the incident are asked to call the police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 650S200319.
