THE true story of a talented teenager whose life is blighted by domestic abuse is being brought to life in a powerful new drama by a Stourbridge husband and wife team.

Rock and A Hard Place explores the complex nature of domestic abuse, ranging from coercion to the tragic deaths of women at the hands of abusive partners; it also reveals the impact of funding cuts on the refuge system and on the support available for women.

The production received widespread acclaim when it was performed in three venues across Gloucestershire and it will now run at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday April 27.

The play was written and is performed by Lynn and Dave Morris who run Journeymen Theatre - a small-scale touring company which specialises in solo and two-hander productions and human rights themed theatre.

Lynn said: “Rock and a Hard Place might be seen as an intimidating and disturbing experience. That is necessary to get its important message across but the audience can be sure they won’t go away scared witless.”

The performance will take place in the Wollaston Studio - starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £5 and include a free glass of wine/soft drink.

They are now on sale from Stourbridge Theatre Company's website and the French Deli, Coventry Street, Stourbridge.
