MOTORISTS regularly visiting Kidderminster town centre will soon be able to save hundreds of pounds a year by applying for a new parking season ticket.

Wyre Forest District Council has launched a season parking permit which will be valid only on Bromsgrove Street Car Park at a cost of £300 a year.

The new Bromsgrove Street Value Season Ticket will allow people who work, visit, shop, study or live in the town centre to park all day, every day for less than £1 a day.

The new trial offer represents a saving of up to £406 on the price of a full unrestricted parking season ticket which allows drivers to park at any council long stay car parks in the district.

Available from April 1, the permit can be bought monthly, six monthly or annually with flexible payment options ranging from upfront one-off payments or monthly direct debit.

Linda Draycott, corporate director for community, wellbeing and environment at Wyre Forest District Council, said: “This is a great value deal for anyone looking to park in Kidderminster.

“Bromsgrove Street car park is ideally located right on the edge of the town centre and this trial offer is ideal for people working, living, studying or visiting the town on a regular basis.

“The car park is regularly patrolled by our officers and the new season ticket offers motorists exceptional value for money in a convenient and secure location.”

The success of the trial will be reviewed next year.
