Staff at a Malvern coffee shop are donating coats and blankets as well as tinned goods to the homeless and are asking the public to help with collecting the items.

Kirstie Brown, from the branch of Costa in Church Street, Malvern, decided to do something to help rough sleepers in the district after seeing a Facebook post about homelessness.

Along with her colleagues Maisie Scholes-Rice and Jordan Parry, Kirstie will be collecting warm items to take out to rough sleepers in the district.

She said: “After I saw that post I decided it would be a good idea if we all got some coats and blankets and took them out to the homeless.

“We have got a box right by the front door so if anyone wants to bring anything in and leave it we will go out in the evenings and give them to those who need them.”

Kirstie added: “Helping the homeless is especially important given how the weather has been this week so any donations will be welcome.”
