TWO ladies from Ludlow will be hoping to get some well deserved rest this Christmas and New Year.
Margaret Edwards and Jean Parker from Poyners in Broad Street have wrapped and helped to fill thousands of shoe boxes over the years that are used to send simple gifts to children with little or nothing in Eastern Europe.
The two ladies have also been in the forefront of the Ludlow commemorations of the First World War throughout the past four years
They took the lead in raising the money to have the names of all of those who died in the First, Second and Korean wars placed around the base of the War Memorial.
In November they also arranged for a commemorative exhibition from the Great War to be staged at St Laurence’s Church.
