A WYRE Forest homeless charity have been lifting the festive spirit at their Christmas Fayre and crafts event.

Nightstop held their festive fayre at Kidderminster Town Hall on December 6, which featured gift and food stalls, as well as afternoon tea served by young volunteers.

Kidderminster Mayor Martin Stooke attended the event, which raised funds in support of young homeless people in the district and Kidderminster Foodbank.

Young Cleobury Mortimer volunteer Adam Ponsford, 9, who was previously made an ambassador for the charity, raised over £100 in his tombola.

He was inspired to help fundraise for the charity after they supported a friend of his who was homeless.

He has subsequently set up a group called Adam's Help for the Homeless, and raised over £1000 for Nightstop in October at a coffee morning in Kinlet.

CEO Judith Ford said: "The Fayre was a wonderful example of the community coming together to support our local charities.

"We are so grateful to everyone who volunteered, donated and made the day a great success.

"I would like to thank Martin Stooke, Mayor of Kidderminster, for being with us on the day and spending time with all the stall holders and volunteers.

"Also, a big thank you to the town council for making this Fayre possible."
