RESIDENTS of Redditch are being invited to take part in 'Save the Children' Christmas Jumper Day on Friday, December 14.

Save the Children promote children's rights and provide help and support to children in developing countries, is running their annual fundraising event which sees everyone from politicians and CEOs to school children and dogs, dress up in their best Christmas jumpers to help raise money.

Across the UK alone, it is expected that more than 5 million people will take part in the event, with celebrities such as Myleene Klass, Katie Piper, Love Island's Eyal Booker and This Morning's Holly Willoughby turning out to help promote it.

Amazon is also taking part in the event with its 'Amazon Fashion's Christmas Jumper Store', and is donating 20% of the net purchase price to Save the Children.

WHSmith are also taking part and is giving a £3 donation to Save the Children with each sale of the ‘Christmasauras’ toy.
