A SPECIAL ‘glow in the dark’ event for babies has helped raise hundreds of pounds for Stourbridge fundraising mission Luna’s Legacy.

Two Baby Glowbugs sessions held at Norton Scout and Guide Centre – which donated its premises for free for the event – raised a total of £418.

That money will go to the Luna’s Legacy fund, which was set up by Wollaston couple Hannah and Quinn Swancott in memory of their stillborn daughter.

During the event two ‘Glowbugs’ were held for babies up until they start to walk, while there was also a ‘Glow Boppers’ session for children who are already working.

Altogether, 35 children and their parents attended, taking part in the activities as well as a raffle.

The sessions – which were space-themed in tribute to Luna - take place in a darkened room and enable parents and their babies to explore an array of light and sensory activities.

There are songs, free time to explore the sensory stations, a glowing show and plenty of bubbles.

Sarah Oakley, of Baby Glowbugs, said: “It was a really good turnout for a fabulous cause.”

Luna’s Legacy has raised more than £30,000 towards its goal of £50,000 of a new bereavement suite for Russell’s Hall Hospital in Dudley.
