RESIDENTS in the Webheath area of Redditch are being told to remain vigilant after a distraction burglary.
A well built elderly male called at the home of a vulnerable person living in Downsell Road claiming to be inspecting the drains.
He stated he needed access to the rear garden via the house.
It was later found out that the house had been searched and jewellery stolen.
The person had no ID and has been described by police as 60/65 years old, normal accent, grey beard, tall and well built, and was wearing grey jumper and ordinary trousers.
He was last seen walking off towards Tynsall Avenue.
The incident happened around 3pm on October 4.
A police spokesman said: "If you have information that you believe may be in connection to this incident, please contact the police on 101, quoting the incident number 0200s 051018.
"Please remain vigilant around your area and report suspicious persons, vehicles or activity to the police."
