A MOTORCYCLIST has died in a crash in a residential street in Hereford.

Police have cordoned off Ryelands Street in the Whitecross area of Hereford.

Duty inspector Ian Williams said the crash between a motorcyclist and a car was reported at 5.50am this morning.

He said: "One of the victims has died. Family have been notified. We are not releasing details yet and we are carrying out extensive enquiries at the scene because it is a fatal road traffic collision."

The man who died has been named locally as Scott Morris. 

Today (Monday) the West Midlands Ambulance Service said a motorcyclist died despite advanced life support at the scene.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: “The initial call suggested that a motorcycle had collided with a parked car.

“When ambulance staff seven minutes after the call, they found members of the public carrying out CPR on the rider.

“Ambulance staff took over care of the patient and provided advanced life support at the scene.

“The man was taken to Hereford County Hospital with very serious injuries but sadly was confirmed dead shortly after arrival.”
