If you've been inspired to explore you family history over the Festive period then look no further.

In 2014, Worcestershire County Council is inviting members of the public to find out more about the wealth of Family History resources available at the Hive and how this can assist them with their research.

First Steps in Family History will be held on the first Saturday of the month at 10am and the first Wednesday of the month at 2pm at The Hive, Level 2, Explore the Past Floor.

These useful 1 hour introductions will guide people round the most practical family history resources held on the Explore the Past floor at the Hive and deliver handy tips on getting started.

Worcestershire County Council's Learning and Outreach Manager, Paul Hudson, said: "It's always a popular time of year for those curious about their family's past, and these introductory sessions will help show people the fascinating resources available to help people trace their ancestors."

These sessions can take up to 3 people and pre-booking is essential.

Tickets cost £5 and can be booked by calling Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service on 01905 766352 or by emailing explorethepast@worcestershire.gov.uk.
