A BODY found by police in Bromsgrove last week has been formally identified as Zobaidah Salangy.

Officers searching for the missing 28-year-old made the discovery near Copyholt Lane in Bromsgrove on Friday, October 16.

Zobaidah went missing from her home on March 29 this year after it was claimed she went out for a jog and never returned.

An investigation was launched into her disappearance and three men have since been charged.

Nezam Salangy, aged 42, of Austin Road, Bromsgrove, has been charged with murder.

Mohammed Ramin Salangy, aged 29, from Adamscroft Place, Cardiff, and Mohammed Yasin Salangy, aged 32, also from Cardiff, were both charged with assisting an offender.

A trial has been set for March next year in Worcester.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Peters, of West Mercia Police, said: “Our police officers have been searching tirelessly for Zobaidah and although this is a very sad discovery, we hope this will now give some closure to her loved ones.

“We would like to thank the community for their patience and support whilst we carried out searches.”

Copyholt Lane was closed for some time following the discovery but the road will be reopened today (Thursday) as police prepare to leave the scene.
