CUSTOMERS of  a cafe in Worcester are full of beans after the owners revealed they will be opening a new branch in Malvern.

Worcester's Papa's Caffe is excited to welcome new customers into the former Costa Coffee in Church Street after it revealed it will open its second branch in the building.

The bustling cafe has been a staple in Worcester's New Street for the past 12 years and owner Ali Cokaj is excited to finally expand the business. 

"I think it is about time we branched out and opened a new cafe," he said.

"We can't wait for the new challenge—we have almost forgotten how it feels to open a new business. 

"To open is really nice and we are buzzing."

They decided to seize the opportunity when they noticed Costa was closing.

Mr Cokaj added: "We had been looking for quite a while, but there was never the right building.

"We saw Costa was going and jumped at the chance.

"It is a very nice area and will be really good."

Mr Cokaj said he hopes to open the Malvern branch in May but he is unsure of an exact date as work on the building has taken longer than expected.

He added that the team has been flooded with positive feedback since announcing the news.

"We have had loads of positive feedback and our customers said they are really happy to get another independent business in Malvern.

"People have stopped to look at us [in the new Malvern building] and to tell us they can't wait for us to open."

Costa Coffee closed its Church Street branch on November 17 last year. 

At the time, A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “The Costa Coffee store on Church Street in Malvern will close for trade on November 17 2023.

"Customers can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffees in Malvern on Roman Way.”
