A DEFENDANT asked a prosecutor and magistrates if they wanted to dance as he left a courtroom.

Moments before, the prolific offender Sean Carroll had been fined by magistrates during a court hearing which the 50-year-old had constantly interrupted.

At the start of the case, heard just before 2.30pm, Carroll swore saying he had arrived at court at 10am and it was not good for his mental health to have waited so long.

The court clerk was interpreted by the 50-year-old shouting "I'm guilty" as she tried to put the full charges to him as part of standard court procedure.

Carroll admitted two offences of failing to comply with his community protection notice.

Tom Wickstead, prosecuting, explained Carroll was the subject of a community protection notice which prevented him from disturbing his neighbours in Avening Close, Worcester.

But the court heard Carroll breached it twice within weeks.

Mr Wickstead said on December 27 last year Carroll spoke to a man near his home saying: "If you have the balls come and fight me".

Then, on January 9, emergency workers were in Avening Close and heard the defendant shouting and swearing.

At that point in the hearing Carroll interrupted again saying: "I'll have a fine.

"I don't want to be here now, I'm getting anxious."

Mark Sheward, defending, told magistrates for many years Carroll had struggled with his mental health.

The solicitor stressed, in the January 9 crime, Carroll had not sworn at the emergency workers and instead been swearing at himself which - Mr Sheward explained - the defendant often did.

Jacqueline De Sousa, chairperson of the magistrates bench, fined Carroll £115 for the offences and ordered he pay £46 victim surcharge.

The chairperson told Carroll the £161 total would be added to fines he already owes the courts being deducted from his benefits before telling him he was free to leave Courtroom 2.

As he was leaving Carroll asked the prosecutor "Can I have a dance?" before asking the magistrates.

Carroll then said "I need to go" and left.

We have previously reported on Carroll's various offences - the defendant being made subject in the past of Crasbo and Criminal Behaviour Orders in an attempt to stop his offending.

In 2021 we reported he was arrested by police when he was topless - his custody picture later being taken without a top on.

Carroll's latest case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, (February 29).
