A restaurant dubbed the home of the “nation’s best burger” has opened just down the road from Worcester.

The Beefy Boys has officially launched a new restaurant in Cheltenham.

Foodies joined business and industry insiders at a special launch party on Saturday, February 25.

“We are so excited that our Cheltenham restaurant is now officially open and that we can now bring our award-winning burgers to this vibrant and food-loving town,” said Anthony ’Murf’ Murphy, co-founder of The Beefy Boys.

It was a week of celebration for the team behind The Beefy Boys, who picked up two awards at the National Burger Awards.

Beefy Boys picked up the headline award of ‘National Burger of the Year’ with their signature submission named ‘The Old Boy’- featuring Herefordshire beef, the restaurant’s secret spice mix, sliced onions, melted cheese and a potato bun.

In addition to this, Murf was crowned ‘National Burger Chef of the Year’ after impressing a panel of judges with his burger-flipping skills, beating 15 other talented entrants along the way.

The double win at the contest means that The Beefy Boys have claimed two of the possible five awards up for grabs.

Murf added: “We have had such a phenomenal reaction and support from everybody since our victory at the National Burger Awards last week so we can’t wait to show the people of Cheltenham what all of the hype is about’."

The Cheltenham restaurant is located on Regent Street and features a dining area spread over two floors decorated with burger artwork, neon designs and social seating booths.

Alongside their signature award-winning burgers, Cheltenham visitors will find a selection of chicken wings, sides, veggie options, cocktails and alcoholic milkshakes on the new menu.

The Beefy Boys are now accepting walk-in customers to the restaurant which is open daily from 12pm – 9.30pm (8pm Sundays), although pre-booking is strongly advised during peak service times.

The restaurant will also provide a takeaway service where possible, with plans to move onto Deliveroo in the foreseeable future.
