COMMUNITY champion, Hollie Lowndes, has been out every day for ten days cleaning up Malvern after becoming upset by the 'sight of it' and 'concerned for the wildlife'.

Not only is the amazing six year old giving back to her community but she has also managed to raise £440 for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust as well.

Mum, Gemma Alton said: "I am feeling very proud of her and amazed by her maturity and frustration with people who drop litter.

"She just doesn't understand why they do it, she seems to have a very grown up approach to it and it's so sad that a six year old can see that but older, supposedly wiser, more mature people can't.

"I've no doubt she will continue to do it and continue to remark on every single piece of litter she sees on the ground.

"Of the conversations we've had during it, she is very concerned about the animals and wildlife and just the overall look of it.

"We'd both really like this whole exercise to have some impact on the people of Malvern."

When we asked mum where Hollie got the idea she said: "It started out as a school project with Malvern Parish School, but litter picking is something that Hollie enjoys doing because she wants to look after our planet.

"We had a chat about the good work that she has done and we thought what a great opportunity to also do a bit of fund raising for our favourite charity Acorns Children's Hospice."

Acorns provide babies, children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening conditions and associated complex needs with specialist palliative nursing care and support.
