A FLOOD alert remains in place for the River Severn in Worcestershire with residents urged to be aware.
River levels are high but rising slowly at the Kempsey Yacht Club river gauge following recent rainfall. Flooding continues.
Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Highley to Tewkesbury.
Locations that may be affected include Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke, Upton upon Severn, South Quay, Diglis Parade and the Hylton Road towpath.
Flooding from drains may also be affecting the racecourse and Worcester County cricket ground.
Predicted peaks: Worcester 3.3 - 3.5m tonight, 22/02/21, Diglis 3.0 - 3.2m tonight, 22/02/21, Kempsey 5.3 - 5.5m Tuesday morning, 23/02/21, Saxons Lode 3.7 - 3.9m Tuesday 23/02/21.
On the Environment Agency website, a spokesman said: "We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
One year ago this week the county was devastated by flooding in the wake of Storm Dennis.
Residents across Worcestershire were forced to leave their homes, with some, like those in Powick, not returning for nearly six months.
