CHEVIOT Close in Worcester has been cordoned off by police.

Forensic experts are working on what appear to be blood spatters found in a trail running down the small cul de sac just off Tolladine Road.

Police have confirmed Waterworks Road is the other of the three areas to be cordoned off in relation to a murder investigation.

Diglis Bridge and walkways around it either side of the River Severn have been shut off since early this afternoon with two forensic vans present and a fire service rescue boat deployed as part of a murder investigation.

One man has been arrested by police on suspicion of murder.

A West Mercia Police statement read: “We have cordons in place at three locations in Worcester including the Diglis footbridge as part of a serious incident.

“We would ask people to remain out of the areas while the investigation is underway.

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody. We believe this to be an isolated incident.”
