THE evacuation of the Amazon warehouse in Droitwich which saw two fire crews dispatched turned out to be a false alarm.
The fire service was called out this afternoon amid fears of a blaze in the locker area with staff who turned away from shifts by personnel at the gates.
"There had been reports of smoke emanating from a locker room in the warehouse," said a fire service spokesperson.
"Two applicances, one from Bromsgrove and one from Droitwich, attended but when the fire crews arrived there was no evidence of any fire.
"It was closed as a false alarm at 3pm."
