WARRINGTON Market has made some changes to its list of essential traders that will remain open during the third lockdown.

The biggest change since the last update is that the Cookhouse will now stay closed.

Originally there were plans for four hot food traders to be available for click and collect takeaway orders.

There has been a rethink and now the Cookhouse will be closed in its entirety.

Andy Kinsella, from Cafe at the End of the Universe, told his customers on social media: "Sad to be here at this point again but we have made the difficult decision to close temporarily.

"Operating under reduced hours means it's not financially viable for us to stay open at the moment. Hopefully it will be short term.

"We'll be back before you know it with Warrington's best burgers. See you all soon."

Independent businesses Moran's/Renovation Station, Two Brothers coffee shop and Fone Fitment have also made the hard decision to close until restrictions ease.

Moran's has been serving Warrington for more than 75 years.

A statement on Facebook said: "With a huge amount of regret we have made the tough decision to temporarily close the shop today due to the national lockdown.

"We hoped to stay open but it simply isn't financially viable. We just about scraped though the tier 4 and November lockdown losing money, but offering a service outweighed the losses.

"Due to severity of the latest measures and uncertainty in regards to length of time, we need to preserve what we have, batten down the hatches and get though to the other side.

"Massive thanks to everyone who's supported us now and throughout the years.

"Good luck to all those small businesses/fellow traders in these crazy times. Working together and supporting local we'll see this though."
