THERE have been no new coronavirus related deaths recorded at Worcestershire's hospitals according to the latest NHS figures.

The figures released by NHS England today (Sunday, January 3) show no newly recorded deaths in the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust with no new deaths at Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust in addition.

It means the total number of deaths at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS trust is now at 446, with the number of deaths in the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust at 42.

In total, there have been 488 Covid-19 deaths in county hospitals.

And in all settings, including hospitals, hospices and at home, there have been at least 748 Covid-19 related deaths in the county.

The Acute Hospitals Trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.

The Health and Care NHS trust covers community hospitals and rehabilitation wards, including Worcester City Impatient Unit, Malvern Community Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital, Pershore Community Hospital, the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Tenbury Community Hospital and the Wyre Forest Ward.

In England, a further 386 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 51,437.

Patients were aged between 30 and 107 years old. All except 18 (aged 59 to 95 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Dates of death range from December 6 to January 2 with the majority being on or after December 29.
