JANE and Bryan Portman’s big day this year was full of happiness, tinged with a little bit of sadness.

The couple, who were married at Malvern Register Office at the beginning of September, had initially planned their wedding quite quickly, as Jane explains.

She said: “My mum has dementia and had to go into a care home in January.

“We hadn’t been able to see her since March, when we decided to book the wedding.

“She deteriorated so much she that couldn’t attend our wedding, but we decided to go ahead as that was what she would have wanted.”

The couple, from Astley, Stourport, wore traditional outfits for their wedding, and enjoyed an intimate day with only family in attendance.

Worcester News:

They enjoyed a reception at the Cotford Hotel in Malvern, for whom Jane was full of praise.

“The hotel were amazing. From when we booked it at the beginning of March, rules kept changing but they adapted everything so quickly and everything ran like clockwork.”

The couple enjoyed a two-week honeymoon in Scotland following their wedding in this most trying of years for everyone.
