OFFICERS working on Operation Steerside have targeted Keighley as part of their latest checks.

West Yorkshire Police’s Steerside Enforcement team works across Bradford District, deploying officers seven days a week in cars and on bikes, to manage the roads.

Officers completed the checks across the Keighley area on Wednesday (September 24).

On top of usual assessments, the team also conducted a series of speed checks at various locations. No speed offences were recorded.

Revealing the results of the operation on social media, this is how it went:

  • Six reported for no seatbelt
  • Three with no MOT
  • Two drivers using their mobile phone
  • Four vehicle construction/use tickets
  • One driver reported for contravening a road sign
  • One anti-social vehicle use
  • Two drivers with no insurance
  • Three document offences (License/MOT/Tax etc.)
  • One summons for no insurance offences 
  • Four vehicles seized for no insurance
