One of the faces of farming in Britain will be topping the bill at our Three Counties Farmer Awards ceremony.

the BBC's Countryfile presenter Adam Henson, who runs a farm in the Cotswolds, will be hosting our live online broadcast in November when we recognise the region's top farmers.

We already have a record number of entries for this year's event, and there are still weeks to go before entries close on September 18.

But don't delay - this is your chance to make sure someone you know in the agricultural sector across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucesteershire gets the recognition they deserve.

That's especially true this year after the Covid crisis and lockdown put an enormous strain on the industry.

Our entries reflect how farmers and others in the industry have coped, and have thrown up many inspiring stories.

Those stories will highlighted when Adam hosts the awards.

Born into a farming family, Adam gained experience in farming and tourism from an early age. Having graduated from Agricultural College he worked in Australia and New Zealand before returning home to help manage the business.

Having succeeded Bemborough Farm tenancy from his father, Adam is now a joint tenant with his business partner Duncan Andrews of the 650-hectare mixed farm. They have a joint venture business with a neighbour across six farms, managing 1600 hectares of arable, growing oilseed rape, wheat, winter and spring barley .

The Cotswold Farm Park tourist enterprise which pioneers rare breed conservation was set up in 1971 by Adam’s father. This award-winning tourist attraction now welcomes around 160,000 visitors a year.

Adam started in television in 2001 when he was chosen, from 3,500 applicants, to be a presenter for BBC Countryfile, and has since put his farming knowledge to good use, broadcasting on a wide range of programmes for both radio and TV and published 4 books.
