MEET more beautiful babies who have been born in the district during lockdown.

We have been asking parents to send us pictures of their new arrivals - and we’ve been thrilled with the response.

These cuties are bringing a ray of sunshine to their families right now and here we are delighted to share their lovely pictures, as part of our regular series focussing on lockdown newborns.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Yvelle Rose Petty, born at Calderdale Royal on July 15, 7lb 11oz, to Ben and Sarah Petty of Odsal. A sister for Evelyn Mae. “Labour started in earnest about 7am so we made the mad dash to Halifax. Ben had to wait outside whilst Sarah was assessed. At 9:09 Ben was called in and Yvelle arrived naturally (and without time for pain relief!) at 9:23.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Layla Ann Cavill, born at BRI on April 23, 6lb 10oz, to Courtney Chloe Maltby and Jamie Cavill of West Bowling who say: “After many appointments alone due to the pandemic our little princess was born. We couldn’t be more thankful to everyone around us for respecting the choice to keep Layla safe. She’s our new best friend. Here she’s showing off her muscles.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Minnie-May was born at Bradford Royal Infirmary on May 27, 6lb 2oz, to Natalie Mouatt of Bradford.

She’s a beautiful little sister for siblings Lexi and Mason

Says proud mum Natalie: “Minnie-May was born at 39 weeks and arrived within 56minutes at the BRI.”

It has been, and continues to be, a difficult time to have a baby. Because of restrictions still in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, many mums are having to go into hospital alone, without their partners, and some have had to go through the birth process without a loved one at their side.

And many of their family and friends will have an agonising wait until they can have their first glimpse and cuddle of the new arrivals.

But it’s also a special time to be born - and we hope these delightful picture galleries will become treasured keepsakes for families in the Bradford district.

If you’ve had a baby in lockdown, the Telegraph & Argus would love to share your happy news.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Akaal Singh, born at BRI on June 4, weighing 2.7kg, to Rajinder Singh and Bhajneek Kaur of Wrose. Say the proud parents: “Born a month ahead of schedule, Akaal Singh entered the world during lockdown. Whilst his arrival took everyone by surprise, he handled it like a pro and has blossomed from Day 1! The name Akaal means ‘Immortal One’.

“He is pictured here blissfully unaware of a world of chaos.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Zakaria Hassan Pearson was born at Bradford Royal Infirmary on May 15, weighing 7lb 15oz, to proud parents Megan Pearson and Hassan Zulfiker of Baildon.

Says Sam Cowman: “Zak is my first grandson, born at the BRI and in lockdown. I am very proud of my daughter going through labour as it’s a scary time anyway. Megan and Hassan have taken to parenting very well."
