A SUSPECTED drug dealer has been charged after being arrested by police at Central Station.
Police detained a man after performing a stop and search at Warrington Central shortly before 11am yesterday, Thursday, as part of an operation targeting ‘county lines’ gangs.
And Michael Shield, from Liverpool, has since been charged with possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.
The 31-year-old appeared before Warrington Magistrates Court via video link this morning, Friday.
He will now be brought before Liverpool Crown Court next month, and has been remanded into custody until that date.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “A man from Liverpool has been charged with drug dealing offences after officers seized a quantity of class A drugs at a railway station.
“Michael Shield, of no fixed address, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on Friday, July 10, via a video link – the 31-year-old has been charged with two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
“The charges relate to a stop and search at Central Station on Winwick Street, which occurred shortly before 11am on Thursday, July 9.
“Shield has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, August 7.”
