TEACHING staff at Wrexham Early Years Centre have been posting fun music videos for the children and parents during the COVID 19 Lockdown.

During the last few weeks, staff have been filmed performing a range of songs in order to entertain the children and to support their learning.

The videos, posted on the school's Instagram page, help with concepts such as shapes, numbers and colours.

Feedback from Parent has been 'very positive'.

One parent said: "The videos have been so helpful for my son, he watches them all. When we drive past the school he gets upset and points to the school and wants to go inside.

"When we get home, we put on the videos and he watches, starts smiling and calls his brother to watch them with him. The video clips seem to re assure him that school, teachers and friends are all still there.

"He loves the familiar songs and attempts to sign along with them. He really enjoys the videos."

Wrexham Museum is currently filming a short film on ‘Life Under Lockdown’ in Wrexham County Borough during Spring 2020 and approached the school to be a part of their project when they saw the fun videos on the schools Instagram page.

Jonathan Gammond from Wrexham Museum added: "Wrexham Museum approached the Wrexham Early Years Centre as part of the museum's Life Under Lockdown project, which aims to record and collect for posterity some of the experiences of life in Wrexham County Borough since the lockdown was announced on March 23rd to combat the coronavirus."

A spokesman for the school said: "The school will continue to regularly post new videos both in English and Welsh until the school re opens to all children.

"The staff have thoroughly enjoyed working closely as a team during this difficult time and have had great fun making the videos whilst obviously maintaining a social distance."
