A NEW employment service has been launched in Greater Manchester to tackle the employment challenges created by the coronavirus.
Employ GM will match up individuals who are able to start work immediately with employers who have urgent vacancies, temporary or permanent, that they need filling.
The service, run in partnership by the Growth Company and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, will further provide support for those made redundant due to the coronavirus, self-employed people and those who have been furloughed.
Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, said: "All of the actions that we take now are going to determine how we move forward after this, which is why we're helping businesses, sole traders and self-employed business owners to plan ahead and even second workers to where they're needed most.
Greater Manchester always comes together in challenging times, and this has been no exception."
