BOMBERS who targeted a car in a Bolton street have had their sentence adjourned due to court difficulties caused by the coronavirus crisis.

At Manchester Crown Court yesterday Darren Holland and Tom Omona, from Harrow, were due to have their case concluded by Judge Graeme Smith.

Omona, aged 29, had admitted conspiracy to cause an explosion and Holland, aged 54, was found guilty if the offence, which they committed when a BMW X3, parked in Back Castle Street, was targeted on July 23 last year. A third man, Luqman Hamid, aged 31, of Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, has admitted assisting offences.

Due to the coronavirus crisis barristers are not attending court in person and new rules are being introduced to permit proceedings to take place with legal representatives carrying out their roles from home.

However, courts are still trying to establish video call systems to allow this and so Holland, Omona and Hamid's case was adjourned to a future date.
