A BRASS band which has performed for Her Majesty the Queen is coming to Rhyl.

Bombay Baja, an Indian brass band who have entertained crowds at events all over the world, will headline the Mayor's May Day on May 9.

The brass band set out to create a carnival atmosphere wherever they go.

As well as performing for The Queen, Bombay Baja have entertained steel tycoon Laxmi Mittal, performed at the premier of Shilpa Shetty's film Metro and appeared in the Blockbuster Bollywood Movie (Salaam-e-ishq) starring Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

The Mayor's May Day is one of the events being hosted by Rhyl Town Council over the next few months.

There will be live music and stilt walking daffodils to mark St David’s Day on Saturday, February 29 between 11am and 2pm.

'Easter antics' will be held on Monday, April 13 between 11am and 2pm on Rhyl High Street.

Guests can join Pete and Ged Moss as they explore Rhyl on their gardeners’ Easter Egg Walkabout

Cllr Ellie Chard, mayor of Rhyl, said: “Once again, the town council is providing free entertainment for residents and visitors to the town with events packed with enthralling acts, activities and things to do. We’ll have a few ‘firsts’ but also welcome back some favourites such as Punch ‘n’ Judy and Batala Bangor drumming band.”

A Sunny Rhyl Summer Sizzler is planned for July. This will feature Granny Turismo - the world’s only shopping trolley dance display team.
