A MAN is due in court after a cyclist in her 70s suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision with a street cleaning lorry last year.
The 60-year-old Wareham man has been issued with a postal requisition for an offence of driving without due care and attention after the crash, which happened in Purbeck at 8.45am on October 30.
The casualty was flown to hospital in a critical condition after a collision with the lorry in Corfe Road, Stoborough, near Wareham.
Her condition was later downgraded to 'serious', police say.
The driver of the street cleaning vehicle was uninjured.
Yesterday, a Dorset Police official said: "Following an investigation by the traffic unit, a man from the Wareham area has been issued with a postal requisition to appear before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court next week for an offence of driving without due care and attention."
