A DEVASTATED dog owner is urging people to keep an eye out for her four-legged companion missing from the Wrexham area.

Manon Edwards said her beloved pet Balto has been missing from the Minera area since Monday, December 9 and she is desperate to find him.

She said the three year old husky could have slipped out but there are fears he has been taken.

She told the Leader: "No one has seen anything. It's possible he could have slipped out when my brother went to get his gym bag. When I came home my other dog was on the sofa and the front door was shut, so if they had let themselves out they would both be together.

"The worst thing is that I've heard nothing yet. No one has seen anything, people are just sharing it and keeping their eyes open but I'm worried he has been taken.

"I've had him for three years, since he was a puppy and he only celebrated his birthday the other week.

"I'm trying to keep it together and stay focused."

Manon said the whole experience has left her heartbroken.

She said: "I've always wanted him. When I was little and watched the cartoon Balto, we got a little golden retriever and I really wanted to call him Balto but my dad said no.

"I said when I grow up I'll get my own Balto and I did. I always wanted him and now I don't know where he is."

Manon said her puppy has a distinguishing feature, as part of his left ear is missing, causing it to be flat at the top.

She added: "if he has ran away then they can cover a lot of ground because they are built for running so I'm trying to spread it far and wide.

"If you know anything or have seen anything or think someone might be dodgy just get in touch I want him home.

"Any lead will be better than not knowing anything, there's been nothing. No one has seen anything and that's the hardest part.

"The Police said it sounds like he has ran away so they can't do much, which I can understand but it's heartbreaking.

"He's my baby. I just need something to go off."
