A MAN accused of murder after a 20-year-old was allegedly knifed to death near Bournemouth train station has appeared before a crown court judge.

Jamie Frank Higgs, 18, is charged with murdering Kai Joshua Archer on Saturday, November 16.

Mr Archer, who was 20, suffered wounds to his chest in St Swithun's Road at 10.10pm.

He was rushed to hospital, but died a short time later.

Yesterday, Higgs, who lives in Windsor Road, Bournemouth, appeared for a hearing at Winchester Crown Court.

He did not enter a plea to the charge against him and he has been remanded into custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing next month.

Police have confirmed that Mr Archer and Higgs were known to each other.

A 17-year-old Bournemouth boy arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
