TWO men have pleaded guilty to affray following a “unsavoury drunken brawl” in an East Lancashire street.
Damian Potrykus, 26, and 33-year-old Artur Wojciechowski appeared with an interpreter in the dock where they spoke only to identify themselves and enter their guilty pleas to affray.
That charge related to an incident in Burnley, on May 19.
Wojciechowski, of Byron Terrace, Blackburn, and Potrykus, of Como Avenue, Burnley, both pleaded not guilty to assaulting Almants Antoniskis on the same date, thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
Prosecuting, Stephen Parker said those pleas were acceptable to the prosecution.
Defending Wojciechowski, Bob Elias said both men were of previous good character and asked for an adjournment for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
Mr Elias said: “This was an unsavoury drunken brawl in effect. Albeit it’s not the worst you can imagine. I would expect the court would want pre-sentence reports.”
Judge Sara Dodd said: “I am not going to sentence you today. Your sentence will take place on January 10. Between now and then you will have to see the probation service. The fact that you can have bail and I am asking for reports is not an indication of the sentence that will be passed on the next occasion. All options, including custody, will be available to the court.”
