WE asked our Worcester News readers which place they would recommend visiting to try out some vegetarian or vegan food in the county. This is what they said.

Catherine Mulvey said: “Firefly is one of the best places for vegan food I've tried. Their bhaji burger is incredible and the atmosphere is nice too.”

Will Bradley said: “The Alma Tavern, in Droitwich Road, do great burgers. Award winning Beetroot Red Pepper and Quinoa Burger in a vegan brioche bun.”

Doug Wharton said: “Worcester’s oldest, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free café, Charlies in Sidbury. It’s been that way since before it was all in vogue.”

Justin Lee recommends Waylands Yard. He said: “We eat here at least once a week. The veggie options on the menu are delicious. Dog friendly too.”

Toni Benjamin Bird said: “The Old Rectifying House has had an extensive vegan menu for many years which changes quarterly.”

Katie Warren said: “Bluebell at Callow End, Gallery 36 in Malvern, Swan at Whittington, Singapore Chinese Restaurant in Worcester.”

Will Hodgetts said: “Be The Change - amazing food and even more amazing staff. It's a real community initiative, child friendly, dog friendly, they even used to give you 20p to use the bathroom across the road in the car park. Absolute salt of the earth.”

Lucy Campbell also said the eatery offers tasty food. She also recommended Chesters in New Street, adding: “It offers a superb range of vegetarian and vegan options.”

George Nermal said: “Be The Change is my favourite in Worcester, hands down. I’ve always found the food to be amazing, and there are great options whether you fancy going dirty or healthy. Also, the people who work there are lovely."
