Preparations are under way for the annual Warndon Villages Summer Fete.

On Sunday July 14, Lyppard Hub and Warndon Parish Council will host the popular event on Ankerage Green.

The fun will kick off at noon with dance performances from All Sorts of Performing Arts and music by DJ Chris.

Throughout the afternoon, there are a host of family-friendly activities including pony rides, electric go karts, fairground rides, inflatables, bungee trampolines, face painting, Punch and Judy shows and drumming workshops, while racing fans of all ages can compete in a unique Grand Prix style event. There will also be a wide variety of stalls, demonstrations and food and drink.

There will be a raffle with all proceeds going towards the community centre’s projects. Last year’s raffle funded a new dementia-friendly café. To donate raffle prizes this year, email maxine@lyppardhub.co.uk

Lyppard Hub deputy manager and events co-ordinator Maxine Spaull said: “We are always so excited about the Summer Fete. This is the 12th year that Lyppard Hub has held this community event and every year it gets bigger and better.

"There is something for everyone to take part in and enjoy and the event also gives the groups that use the centre the opportunity to showcase their talents.

"Lyppard Hub has been at the heart of the community for 24 years and this event is all about people coming together and celebrating the good work that goes on here and all of the people who use the centre.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to Warndon Parish Council, Asda and all the amazing volunteers without whom this event could not happen."
