A MAN has been arrested after barricading himself in a house and setting it on fire.

Police were called to an address on Stourbridge Road in Dudley at 7.45am this morning, following reports of a man armed with a knife.

A QUARTER of Sandwell’s Labour councillors up for re-election in May’s local elections have now been told they cannot stand as candidates for their own party.

The de-selection of five councillors to date is cutting a swathe through the borough’s elected local politicians, some of whom have served on the authority for 17 years.

A MAN was punched several times in the face as he sat helpless in his car during a 'nasty' road rage assault on the main road between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by another man who had stopped his vehicle in front of the victim's car on the A448 Kidderminster Road.

The attacker then reached in through the window of the victim's car to punch him several times to the face and head.

AN unprovoked assault in a Rednal pub has left a man with facial injuries.

A man in his 40s was inside the New Rose and Crown pub on New Road when a man is believed to have approached him and punched him to the face causing him to suffer facial injuries
