An explosive new documentary exposing the horrors inflicted by Fred and Rose West that had to be pulled for legal reasons is finally airing on ITV tonight.

At 9pm Sir Trevor McDonald will be giving new insight into killer couple's murders, including allegations made by their youngest son, Barry, who has claimed that his mother took part in Fred's murders.

TV bosses had originally planned to broadcast the show earlier this month but had to postpone it over legal concerns.

It is believed that the Wests raped, tortured and murdered at least 12 woman and girls between 1967 and 1987 - including their own daughter, Heather.

Fred West killed himself after being put on remand accused of murdering 12 girls and women in 1995 while wife Rose, remains locked up at Low Newton prison in County Durham.

Fred & Rose West: The Real Story with Trevor McDonald will air on ITV at 9pm.
