A BUDDING businessman from Dudley is completing an apprenticeship with the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Liam Taylor, aged 18, has joined the charity as an apprentice on the administration team where he will help with logistics while he completes his Business Administration Level 2 course with Juniper Training.

Liam explained: “When I left school I wanted to get a job that also gave me the opportunity to learn, so an apprenticeship was the best option. I’m already familiar with the role as I have gained some practical work experience working with the charity while also studying at Juniper.

"Also being paid a wage will give me some freedom and I’m learning to budget each week.”

Alison Hill, donor support and volunteer manager, is Liam’s line manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. She added: “While a charity, we still operate as a business, and want to give ambitious young people every opportunity to succeed in their career, which is why we are supporting Liam with his apprenticeship. He has already made a good impression, and is a hard working team player.”

Liam is one of 369,700 young people in England who started an apprenticeship last year.

Diane Jones, apprenticeship engagement officer at Juniper Training, added: “We are committed to nurturing young talent and developing potential and are proud to be working with Liam and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity."
