HALF term is a busy time at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms.

The team at Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre have a week of activities, sandwiched between two iconic events.

Kicking the week off with a bang and lots of colourful lights will be the centre’s bonfire and firework display on Saturday, October 27.

With children’s rides, refreshments to include a hog roast, a full bar and family activities, this will be a night out with something for everyone.

Every week day of October Half Term will be the Mary Anning and the Dinosaurs children’s activity.

Children can examine some local fossils and see them through Mary Anning’s eyes and then create an instant fossil shell to take home as well as taking part in a dig.

There will be Dinosaur Dining on the Tuesday of half term with a chance to learn cookery skills making fossil biscuits, bread bones and other treats to take home.

To celebrate Halloween falling in half term this year, the team are putting on an extra session on Wednesday October 24, of, Frankenstein’s Halloween Lab.

Children will be able to get involved with making masks, cloaks and the other things that are associated with Halloween with helping hands to guide them.

The week rounds off with the centre’s annual Craft Fair which is earlier this year on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday November 3 and 4.
