GOOD morning. We are here to provide any information on incidents that might crop up throughout the rush hour period this morning on our Black Country and North Worcestershire roads.
So far the roads across the area are pretty quiet, but there busy but moving traffic on the approach to and through the roadworks on the M5 northbound busy for J2 A4123 (Oldbury) coming from Frankley services, where travel time is 22 minutes.
There is also flooding in Stourton on A458 Stewpony Bridge / Bridgnorth Road / Cote Lane between A449 Prestwood Road (Stewpony traffic lights) and Blundies Lane. It is affecting traffic between Stourton and Enville, but the police say the road is passable with care.
Traffic is queueing in Hagley on A456 Kidderminster Road South between A450 Worcester Road (Hagley) and Station Drive (Blakedown), while there is heavy traffic in Kidderminster on A451 Stourport Road into town between Northumberland Avenue and A442 Worcester Road / Green Street / New Road.
The M42 northbound is busy but moving from J1 A38 / B4096 (Bromsgrove) to J3 A435 (Portway / Redditch), where travel time is 13 minutes, while there is queueing traffic in Amblecote on A491 High Street southbound before A451 Bath Road and St Johns Road in Stourbridge.
There are areas of planned roadworks which are causing delays, they include:
Speed restriction of 30 mph and one lane closed due to major roadworks and contraflow on M5 both ways between J1 (West Bromwich / Birmingham) and J2 (Oldbury). Work on the Oldbury Viaduct means that all traffic is sharing one side of the road as a contraflow.
One lane is closed due to roadworks on M5 northbound between J4 A38 (Bromsgrove / Stourbridge) and Frankley Services, while there are speed restriction of 20 mph in Pensnett due to roadworks and temporary traffic lights on A4101 High Street at High Oak.
Temporary traffic lights and roadworks are in place in Stourport on A451 Minster Road both ways near Windermere Way near to Stourport High School.
There are speed restriction of 40 mph due to roadworks on A38 southbound in Lickey between M5 J4 (Bromsgrove / Stourbridge) and Barley Mow Lane, while there is speed restriction of 30 mph due to roadworks on A38 Stoke Road westbound in Stoke Heath between Sherwood Road and B4094 Worcester Road in Stoke Heath.
Elsewhere, in Kidderminster, one is lane closed due to roadworks on A451 The Ringway northbound at A448 Comberton Hill / Oxford Street / Green Street so expect delays. Roadworks on the Ring Road going down the hill towards the island at the bottom of Station Hill.
In Oldbury there are roadworks and temporary traffic lights on Mallin Street between A457 Oldbury Road / A4031 Spon Lane South and B4169 St Paul's Road / West Park Road.
