CONSERVATIVE Harriett Baldwin has held the West Worcestershire seat.

Mrs Baldwin polled 34,703 votes to successfully defend her seat.

Her majority is now 21,328, slightly down on her 22,578 majority from 2015.

Samantha Charles took second place and increased the Labour vote from 7,244 in 2015 to 13,375.

Edward McMillan-Scott came third for the Liberal Democrats with 5,307 votes.

Natalie Mcvey, of the Green Party, received 1,605 votes and Mike Savage, of UKIP, won 1,481.

A jubilant Mrs Baldwin said: "It's a big increase on last time.

"I'm absolutely thrilled that the voters have increased their trust in me.

"Last time [in 2015] UKIP came second. I think UKIP were perhaps unwise to even stand here. Both they and the Greens will lose their deposit.

"Clearly, Labour came second - quite a long way behind.

"This general election was not a re-run of the referendum argument. It was a mandate for the Prime Minister's approach to Brexit."
