Leicester Square Theatreland Boom Begins

As the epicentre of theatre in London, the theatreland boom in Leicester Square has begun. It’s an area known for the spellbinding shows, passionate performance and amazing musicals.

London’s theatreland is just along the Strand and is absolutely packed with some of the best-known theatres in the world, including Her Majesty’s, The Old Vic, The Savoy, Palladium, Lyceum and many more.

Because the recession has held many back from expensive foreign holidays and other treats, attempts to popularise theatre trips have been successful. One element of this campaign has been to offer discount ticket prices for performances that evening.

Additionally, it has recently been extended to allow tickets to be booked a couple of days in advance both at the ticket booth and online. This allows families to plan their trip to the capital and know what they’re going to see.

It’s possible to buy even cheaper tickets by going to see preview performances, where the show may be a little rougher around the edges but the savings are excellent.

The low-price ticket availability means that it’s a great time to attend one of London’s top theatres, especially with the up-coming shows. There are productions of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The 3 Steps and The Shawshank Redemption planned, as well as old favourites such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Lion King and The Moustrap.

You’ll also find well-known film and TV stars directing or treading the boards in the coming year, including Richard Wilson, Keira Knightley and Anna Friel.

Take advantage of the discount tickets and join the theatreland boom in Leicester Square.
